Shoalstone 18 Months On

I first visited Shoalstone in November 2020 just before the second lockdown. The open air pool was shut down for Covid and in need of some TLC.

TLC - Tender Loving Care.

Well on my recent visit this week it seems that it is up an running again although closed due to the stormy weather. It all looks nicely painted and even in the stormy weather the water was quite inviting. There was even a blast from the Covid past in that The Arcadia was anchored in the bay, albeit on it's own this time. Previously the bay had become a temporary home for various cruise ships.

Even the subsiding coast path mentioned in that post has been restored. The Covid barriers are long gone and the charity Sea Mine has had a coat of paint.

Looks ready but, I would need a rise of at least 20 degrees to be tempted 🙂

Such a peaceful sight even with the massive waves.

The thought of swimming in the pool with waves crashing over only seemed to appeal to me. I thought it would be safe, everyone else thought danger. 2 people actually braved the water in wetsuits. Not so brave.🙂
