This Odds and Sods is just so last year, and from a month that is best put behind me. It was eventful in a way you don't want, so let's move on after we look at these photos. I have already taken twice the number of photos in January 2025 than I took in December 2024. More on those to come soon.
This is my 56th consecutive Odds and Sods, collection, as well as one of the simplest.
This post is slim pickings because of the sort of month it was, so in essence there were two outings with my camera and some phone snaps from Liverpool. This first photo is from an outing to nearby Torcross. I've already posted a selection from this series here in Beauty All Around.
There was also a night time visit to Torquay to check out the Christmas lights, Christmas now feeling like it was months ago.

This well disguised pill box sits on the cliffs at Torcross overlooking Start Bay. It is recently restored, and the cost path runs through it in a short tunnel.
These World War Two structures were built in a hurry at a time of national emergency: none were built to last. Some are in remarkably good condition, but decades of water penetration, rusting metal reinforcing bars and crumbling concrete are taking their toll. A conservation project in 2013 undertook some repair work to two of the structures: more will
be needed in the years to come. This machine gun emplacement is in good condition. Bullet impact marks (from US training exercises for D-Day), are still visible on the outside wall.
