Late or Early Camellia

Take your pick, early or late. I was amazed given our recent unusual harsh cold spell of weather to see this Camellia in bloom today in nearby Salcombe. I am taking it to be early as the rest of the tree was covered in well developed buds. It was quite a cheerful sight and a harbinger of a new year on it's way, with longer days also around the corner.

Well aren't you one lucky sod to have such a beauty so early in the season. Must be an omen of how the rest of the year (2023) will be like....beatuiful.

Although as the crow flies this flower is about 2 miles from home, we had a very heavy frost and we may have lost a few plants. The weather incredibly localised around here because of the hills and the creek.🙂

You should know, better than any, that Camellia is always early, never late, and will have something to say!🤣
