I was outside doing a bit of winter pruning when I spotted way up high, a cloud of crows in ever changing spirals and swirly patterns, the general impression being of a slow moving tornado. I have never seen so many together before, assuming they were crows.
I rushed in to get my camera but when I got back outside they had split into two clouds and were moving apart. One went off out of sight while the other one carried on spiralling upwards getting higher and higher until they were barely visible. I've never witnessed this phenomenon before.
This crop is massively enlarged before they got too high up.
